How to enrol in a Catholic School
To enrol your child in a Catholic school, contact the principal of the school, or your parish priest. Many schools and colleges conduct annual 'open days' or other opportunities to see what a school has to offer. Your telephone or mail enquiry would be most welcome. For individual schools look under 'Catholic' in the White Pages or follow this link : schools
The Catholic Education Office is very willing to help you make contact with Catholic schools.

Financial Assistance
Because Catholic schools are only partially funded by governments, tuition fees are a necessity. However, it is our policy that no child will be denied a Catholic education because of inability to pay fees. Many of our families receive fee concessions. Please do not hesitate to enquire about enrolment of your child even when experiencing financial hardship.
Catholic schools owe a great debt to the religious sisters, brothers and priests who founded Catholic schools, laboured in them in very difficult times, and who are still teaching in them today.
A Comprehensive Curriculum
Curriculum in Catholic schools begins in the early years of schooling, when it is important that children experience success, acquire confidence and develop their independence.
- As children mature, they must develop those key skills which everyone needs, but also allow their individual differences and talents to flourish.
- In senior years there is a wide choice of subjects, both within and between schools, so that all students have the opportunity to succeed at what they do well.
- Our schools work in co-operation with other educational systems and SSABSA in curriculum matters, while maintaining the Catholicity of our schools.
Dedicated and Competent Teachers
Like the parents, teachers have made a definite choice to join a Catholic school community.
- Teachers in Catholic schools have a record of commitment and dedication to their vocation and their students. They are highly qualified and participate in up-grading their skills, both within the Catholic system and in co-operation with their colleagues in other systems.
An Education in Faith
Religious educators in Catholic schools invite, introduce, initiate and lead young people to a deeper inquiry into the Gospel message of Jesus.
- Students in Catholic schools participate in the life of the Church through prayer, sacramental celebration, an appreciation of the Scriptures, Catholic Tradition and a recognition of the need for a more just society.
- The Catholic school supports families in their role as the first educators in the faith.
- The Catholic school gives support to families who are initiated into the sacramental life of the Church.
- Teachers in Catholic schools endeavour to assist families to draw upon the 'seeds of the Word' already present in their lives.
Continuity and Diversity
Catholic schooling is available from Reception to the end of secondary schooling.
- Within a diverse range of structures co-educational, boys' and girls' schools, primary, middle and secondary schools there is a clear pathway for children from the first days of school to graduation.
- Catholic schools welcome children of all cultures, and celebrate the diversity of God's gifts to individuals and cultures.
Pastoral Care for every Student
Catholic schools provide a caring and supportive environment for each student, and encourage the growth of responsible behaviour patterns.
- Students develop a sense of belonging within a community based upon trust and mutual respect.
- Students' individual skills and talents are nurtured, while student achievement and self-esteem are strongly promoted.
- The development of the whole person is paramount.
First Class Facilities
The labours of many religious and lay staff, the generosity of parents, and Government funding have equipped our schools to offer children an education to prepare for the next century.
- Our schools have an impressive array of facilities, including modern technology and facilities for music, the arts and sport.
- This teaching and learning environment is enriched by classroom and library resources to ensure that students receive the best possible education.
